Adaptive toy and technology library

Toys and learning devices are available at the Champaign County Library that encourage children with disabilities to learn through a process called cause and effect.  These toys are modified with special switches that when activated will operate the toy.

Anyone with a Champaign County Library card may check out these items.  Items are checked out for 2 weeks and can be renewed if no one is waiting for the item.  These items are listed in our card catalog.

Computers

A number of computers are available for public use at the library with Internet (Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).

There is no charge to use the computers; however, a library card number is required to log on.  If you do not have your card, staff are able to look up your number.  If you do not have a library card, you may sign up for a free card.  You may also register online here.

Golden Buckeye card

Ohio residents who hold current Ohio Driver Licenses or State ID cards automatically receive a Golden Buckeye card in the month of their 60th birthday. Individuals who do not have a current license or State ID, as well as people under age 60 who are eligible due to disability, or who otherwise do not receive their card automatically, may apply for a card at the Champaign County Library.

Be sure to bring your driver's license or other ID with you to the service desk when you apply.  If you are disabled, please bring verification of your disability status.
